We are seeking a Key Java AI Engineer to design and deliver AI-enabled solutions using Java technologies. In this role, you will lead the implementation of business-critical, AI-powered features while contributing across the entire AI Software Development Life Cycle, from solution design through deployment and continuous improvement.
This is a fully remote position that offers you the flexibility to work from any location in Armenia, whether it's your home or well-equipped offices in Yerevan or Gyumri.
Responsibilities
- Design, build and deploy AI-enabled solutions using Java technologies
- Lead the implementation of business-critical features powered by AI
- Contribute to all phases of the AI Software Development Life Cycle, including solution design, prompt engineering, model integration, evaluation, monitoring, deployment and continuous improvement
- Stay updated on the latest trends in Java and AI technologies
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering or backend platform development
- Proven experience implementing the AI Software Development Life Cycle
- Qualifications in solution design, prompt engineering and model integration
- Familiarity with evaluation, monitoring, deployment and continuous improvement of AI solutions
- Proficiency in Java and/or Scala as primary languages with Python as secondary
- Expertise in Apache Spark, including Spark SQL and Spark Streaming
- Knowledge of Apache Kafka and event-driven architectures
- Competency in SQL and data modeling
- Skills in AWS cloud services and serverless computing
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher
Nice to have
- Flexibility to use Terraform for Infrastructure as Code
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes (EKS / AKS) and CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab CI or Jenkins
- Experience with cloud data warehouses such as Amazon Redshift
- Understanding of Microsoft Azure services and Azure-native tooling
- Knowledge of Iceberg, Hudi or Delta Lake
- Familiarity with Generative AI Fundamentals, Gen AI Assisted Development and GitHub Copilot
